Had an outing to MoS on last saturday. I can only say that its been entertaining. There were nothing like the clubbing sort of environment where people were just grinding. However, there was a special bling maker event, thus a stage was set up at the dance floor and games booth giving away freebies almost like a night time carnival.
Got ourselves tonnes of goodies. Caps, T-shirts, Note books. All in all its a pretty wild night. And not to mention its totally FOC. Free entrance, photo and a drink. All in a good night. Of course the outing was really meant to be a celebration or sort for my birthday. And i got a polo and a watch. Seems like this year, i got more accessory to wear now, apart from my necklace.
Been catching up with news since staying in hall has sort of deprived me of my usual intakes of newspaper. And the whole Odex saga has just sort of caught my eye. And of course there will be a big hoo-ha, in the news, forums and what-so-ever, i conclusion that i came up with is that Singnet and Odex have both screwed up big time in dealing with their customer. Singnet being the one who did not bother to protect their customer rights and Odex now being accused of using this legal system to gain huge profit, they sure have lots of work to do to improve their image among the youths now. Giving free upgrades and promising that 'offenders' that stop 'offending' after 3rd September will be spared seem to be their first step in attracting back their customers. But i'll say this for sure. Im switching to Pacnet as soon as my current one expire.
And of course those who received the dreaded Odex-6-ed letter maybe can check through this website Xedo Defense. Provided tonnes of informations and some are useful even if its not in this context. Good luck to the 'offenders'.
"Fansubs violate copyrights
We have to admit it: the distribution of fansubs is technically a violation of copyright under the WTO TRIPS agreement. However the TRIPS agreement does not demand that distribution of copyrighted material is a criminal offence unless it is done on a commercial scale. This means it is up to the copyright holder to bring the offender to court. The copyright of unlicensed material is held by the original creator. In the case of anime this usually means the Japanese distribution company. If something is licenced, the licensee holds the copyright and thus the right to sue any copyright infringers within the area covered by the license." - From animesuki
